A variety of materials and materials are suitable for laser engraving. There are many materials specially prepared for engraving with the laser. However, we are also happy to test whether your individual material is suitable for laser engraving. Laser engraving represents a high-tech tool for precise marking, inscription or identification of sheet steel and metal (light and heavy metal), ceramics, plastics, textiles and even for many fiber composites. Laser engraving: how does it work?

Laser engraving is a laser-based processing method of surfaces for permanent marking, inscription, or decoration of various objects. To create a laser engraving on the surface of a substrate, a high-energy laser beam is used to remove a definable layer of the source material.

How deep is a laser engraving?

With simple processing, a laser engraving is about 10-25µm deep depending on the material. Through repeated processing, even larger depressions are thus possible. This creates a permanent marking or inscription. Almost unlimited possibilities and high accuracies (± 0.01 mm) combined with low costs are just some of the many convincing arguments of innovative laser engraving.

Accuracy of laser engraving

Precise laser beam guidance, high power density and a high cutting speed enable highly precise contour accuracies of ± 0.01 mm. Combined with an extremely narrow processing width, even the smallest details can be rendered very accurately and precisely.
